Brent "Bubba" Hamblin passed peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at home in Marriott-Slaterville. He was born the 6th of 12 children to Jay and Dorothy Hamblin on July 24,1951 in Ogden, Utah. He was born with fireworks and died with flags.

He attended Ogden City Schools graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1969. He played baseball with his brothers and neighborhood kids and roamed the foothills above 9th Street. He was proud of his Hamblin and pioneer heritage.

He joined the Army in October 1970, serving in Washington State and Germany during the Vietnam War, and receiving an honorable discharge in October 1973. He was very patriotic and loved his country.

He married Sharon Peterson on December 27, 1975 in Elko, NV. They have three wonderful daughters, Marnee, Shanae and Kami, and 12 grandchildren. He loved being called Papa and the kids knew who to go to for treats and trouble.

He worked for Jack B. Parsons for 27 years, drove long haul truck, and retired from Hill Air Force Base in June 2017 after 12 years of service.

After much encouragement from his daughters, he found new meaning in life when he finally let the missionaries come calling in October 2010 and was converted to the Gospel. Brent and Sharon were sealed with their girls on March 19, 2011 in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Sharon passed away on January 22, 2015. Although he missed her terribly, he found love again when he met Janet Hoth. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on February 24, 2017, sharing a much too short 10 months together. From this union he gained 7 children and 13 grandchildren whom adored and appreciated him. Brent unconditionally loved and welcomed them with open arms.

His hobbies over the years included golf, camping, boating and fishing especially at the Gorge. He was a Nascar fan, loved to watch bull riding and weasels on ice! He loved to cheer on the grandkids in all their interests.

He loved reading and knowing more about family history. He was very proficient in the art of embarrassment- he loved to make you squirm to get a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Hamblin, his children; Marnee (Glen) Williams, Shanae (Troy) Headley, Kami (Mark) Bingham, Brent Hoth, Margaret Brewer, Carolyn (Merrill) Bybee,
Amanda (Nate) Kjar, Maria Littlejohn, Andrew (Kaitlyn) Hoth, Cheryl Hoth, and 25 grandchildren; Colby, Lindsay, Keara, Jadyn, Tony, Tyzek, Taysen, Sialie, Braxton, Carson, Kamron, Alanie, Amary, Kaden, Abbey, Corbin, Cameron, Aspen, Alexi, Brooklin, Miles, Laini, Riley, Kaybree, and Kynlee. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon, two sisters, a brother, and daughter Marnae.

He will be greatly missed, even his bad jokes and teasing.
