David Stratton passed on 8 Jan 2017 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa to George and Faye Stratton on 1 Feb 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Ray, Cliff, Bob and Bo; sisters, Nellie Mae, Ellen and daughter Christy. He is survived by his wife Mona, sister Margie Culbertson, children Mark Stratton, Lynne (Kevin) Conover, Georgia (Arthur) Williams, his 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

When he met, and married his sweetheart "Re" (Ramona Lee Thomas), he was working in the oil fields as an electrician then transitioned to working on the rigs until 1963 when they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He worked at Litton Industries where he began a career in aviation electronics that lasted 41.5 years with the Air Force as a civil servant. He was one of a kind and made life march to the beat of his own rhythm. He loved people with everything he had, was quick to bring a smile to your face, and when you were with him you knew everything was going to be alright.

He loved working with his hands- he could fix anything - and enjoyed using his talents to help friends and family whenever he could. He treasured his time on the golf course with Jim, Stan, and his boys. He spent 16 years as a church music leader and music saturated his mind. He was a rare strength in a chaotic world and a part of his unique rhythm found its way into many of our lives, and we are better for it. While he won't be able to sing any new songs, echoes of his life and voice will influence us all for years to come.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Harbor Christian Church, 800 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Bank of Utah under the Dave Stratton Memorial Fund.
