Obituary

Dennie D. Prevedel
November 11, 1930 - October 3, 2017

A true Steward of the Soil, Dennie Prevedel passed away October 3, 2017. He was born November 24, 1930 in Ogden, Utah the son of Angelina and Floriano Prevedel, the youngest of four children. He attended school at Kanesville and Hooper and graduated from Weber High School in 1948. He married Geraldine Russell on September 19, 1952, recently observing their 65th wedding anniversary. Dennie’s entire life was spent on the farm, which is known for its quality feed. His Dairy Herd was one of the top producing herds in the State. He served on the Weber County ASC Committee and went to State to represent the Weber County Young Farmers. He was a member of the Trentini - Italians Club of Utah. Dennie was very proud of his Italian Heritage.
Always involved in sports, he participated with the Kanesville Young Men playing baseball and basketball. For many years he enjoyed hunting and knew the value of a well-trained hunting dog. He passed his love of hunting on to his sons, grandsons and great-grandsons. He belonged to the Weber State Wildcat Club for over 50 years. Dennie looked forward to rekindling memories with his high school class mates each June at their annual reunion. As a member of the Ogden Eagles, Dennie and Gerrie enjoyed their Saturday night dates of dinner and dancing.
Dennie is survived by his wife, Gerrie and three children: Scott (Kathy), Karen (Marino) and Wayne. Five grandchildren: Shellie (Scott) George, Colt (Carrie) Prevedel, Marque (Travis) Clifton, Dustin (Lacie) Prevedel, Yates (Michelle) Prevedel and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Flora Sevy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Aldo Prevedel and sister Rita Hyland.
