Earl Lanier

Earl Lanier, 60, was passed away on June 29, 2017. He resided in Roy, UT. He was born on August 9, 1956 to Harry and Arlene Williamson Lanier. Earl lived a full life. He had many friends that followed him as early as his junior high and high school years. Through his life he attended Gramercy Elementary, Mount Fort Junior High, and Ben Lomond High School. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1975. He was on the swim team and track team. He was known for being involved with most sports. Shortly after graduating, he joined the Army and spent some time overseas in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was given an Honorable Discharge.

Earl had a passion for driving commercial vehicles. He worked at CH Dredge Trucking, driving across country and a few others. His last job before retiring was working at Scott Anderson Trucking.

He was able to pursue his passion of fishing during his retired years. He loved to go where the fish were. His favorite place was Strawberry Reservoir. He loved to do anything that had to do with camping, hunting, boating, and teaching his grandkids how to fish and where the best places were to go camping and fishing. He also loved many sports, including football, Nascar Racing, and golfing. His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He collected lots of Packers’ memorabilia and even took a trip to Wisconsin to see the Green Bay Museum. He always lit up when he talked about them. He also had a dream of going to Alaska to fish out on the boats.

He is survived by his children; April Horspool (Bill) of Ogden, UT, Eric Lanier of Roy, UT, Jessica Norman (Jared) of Ogden UT; 5 grandchildren; Caiden Horspool, Trinity Norman, Zuri Norman, Payton Norman, and Noah Norman; his siblings; Kathleen (Marcus) Lanier of Honeyville, UT, Henry Lanier of Northfork, VA, and Paul (Melinda) Lanier of Roy, UT; and many friends along with his old Blue Heeler named Cookie.
