Loving husband, father and grandfather, Steve McGarry, passed away January 5, 2018 at McKay-Dee Hospital after a recent diagnosis of cancer and rare blood disorder. Steve was born September 23, 1944 in Ogden, Utah to James C. McGarry and Esther Stevens McGarry.

Steve graduated from Ogden High School in 1962. He served an LDS mission in England. Returning to Ogden, he graduated in Business from Weber State College. While working in summer for IRS, he met his sweetheart, Judy D. DeGroot. They were married June 8, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Steve joined the USAF in 1969 and was a pilot in the Vietnam War. Over the years Steve owned a Minit Lube; was co-owner in 2 car lots; was an auto wholesaler; co-owner of Legacy Homes & Improvements & worked for IRS. After retirement, he returned to work as a substitute school bus driver. He loved the association with the kids, coaches, and co-workers. Steve became inactive in the LDS church, but he always supported his wife, children, and grandchildren with their activity. He had fond memories of being ward clerk and team teacher with his wife in Sunday School and Primary.
His hobbies included watching sports live and on tv; following grandkids in sports and music; listening to music and attending musicals; traveling; studying Google Earth and family history; and working Sudoku puzzles.
