Obituary

Milton Stratford Bachman

Milton Stratford Bachman, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and businessman passed away, surrounded by family on March 10, 2018 from complications of a stroke.
Born February 9, 1931 to Milton Kasper Bachman and Marianna Stratford Bachman, youngest son and brother to Phyllis Koldewyn Booth, Arlene Muller and Dorothy Combe.
Milton met his future wife, Greta Joan Ball in 9th grade at Mount Fort Junior High school and they were married after high school graduation. Together they built a family of 5 children: Michael Stratford (Debbie) Bachman, Rebecca Prigmore, Robert Mark (Glenna) Bachman, Nanette Allen and Milton Shawn Bachman.
Milt has 11 grandchildren, Michael Scott, Victor Kent, Shannon, Cassa Joan, Bretton John, Aimee, Katie, Logan, Calan, Brodie, Madison Joan and Payson Jo.
After high school Milt graduated from Weber State College with a degree in accounting. Milt sought his fortune by working as a Reliability Analyst for the Boeing Corporation. Milt was paralyzed in a car accident and bedridden for 3 years. Joanie read real-estate books to him. With a new surgery he regained the use of his legs, and armed with a Realtors license, he was ready to make his mark. Milt became a top salesman in Utah. Using his many connections, he developed Beus Hills Housing Development behind Weber State College. He was also very influential in the building of and donating the property where Beus Pond now sits.
Milton loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He was deputy sheriff in the Weber County Jeep Patrol Search and Rescue, President in the volunteer Snowbasin Ski Patrol. He and Joanie loved the Oregon coast and together they bought and restored a home. Our family spent countless summers, fishing, crabbing and clamming and enjoying life on the coast. This is where Milt lost his precious Joanie. After her passing, Milt found another heart to love in Margene Millar. With Margene, Milt was able to continue his amazing adventures. Together they traveled the world. They saw clay soldiers in China, rode elephants though the jungles of Africa and swan in the Panama Canal. Milt would tell you a story and just as you were ready to call false, whip out the t-shirt and pictures to prove it.
In his last years Milt had a paralyzing stroke and he moved back to his beloved Ogden. Here he was surrounded by his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Milton Kasper Bachman and Marianna Stratford Bachman and his wife Greta Joan (Ball) Bachman. He is survived by his children, Michael Stratford (Debbie) Bachman; Rebecca Prigmore, Robert Mark (Glenna) Bachman, Nanette Allen (Kent Larsen) and Milton Shawn Bachman.
