Paul Heber Tingey 89, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 in Logan, Utah.
Paul was born on December 10, 1927 in Brigham City, Utah to Essie Mae Guymon and Orson Lorenzo Tingey.
He served his Country in the Army during WWII, followed by an LDS Mission in Australia. He married his sweetheart Leora Maxine Rimington on September 9, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Paul and Leora served two missions together in Papua New Guinea and in the London England Temple.
He graduated from USU with a BS in Dairy Husbandry, later received his teacher certificate to go on to receive his Master's Degree in Education Administration from BYU. He taught Elementary Education in the Box Elder County School
District and worked as an Elementary Principal and Jr. High Vice Principal in the Uintah County School District. Paul was a mentor and friend to children of all ages.
He was a dairy farmer and had a prize herd of Jersey cows. Paul enjoyed horses and cutter racing in Tremonton. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. His family was his top priority as demonstrated by his loving relationships with each of his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children: Lori (Winston) Jones, Hyrum, UT; Debi (Scott) Bullock, St. George, UT; Mari (Dave) Emery, AK; Buck (Jill) Tingey, NV; Jerry (Lynette) Tingey, ID; David (Christine) Tingey, IN; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with three on the way.
Preceded in death by his wife, son Andy, parents, five sisters and six brothers.
Special thanks to the staff at Sunshine Terrace Care Center and Intermountain Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
Viewings will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors accorded bythe Combined Veterans from Box Elder County.
