Ronald Anderson
1944 -2024
Ronald Clayton Anderson, known to all as Ron, a hardworking, fun, and compassionate soul, continued on his eternal journey on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from complications due to cancer. Born on October 28, 1944, in Dragerton, Utah, a son of Clayton and Theone Anderson, he spent his life living every moment with love, laughter, and devotion to his family.
Ron, loved by all who knew him, will be fondly remembered as "Ron the Barber" and the hardest worker in town. He loved calling himself, “the Son of Iron Man” and lived up to that title until the very end. Ron was a centerpiece in the community of North Ogden, Utah, where he lived. His barbershop, Ron's Barber Shop, was more than a place of business; it was a hub where people gathered, stories were shared, and friendships were nurtured. Ron's legacy in his community extends beyond the thousands of haircuts he gave over his 50 years as a barber. His larger-than-life personality, love for people, and commitment to his craft made him an icon in the community.
Ron was not just a barber. He was also a beloved school bus driver for 28 years; marked for his pranks, dad-jokes, and unapologetic care and concern for each child that climbed onto his bus. Whether in the barbershop, the school bus, or a chance meeting, everyone was changed for the better by this unique son of God.
He was a loving husband to Karla, his childhood crush and life-long friend, whom he married on May 9, 1964, in the Manti Temple. He is the proud father to Scott, Matt, Justin, and Kristin.
Ron had a deep love and understanding for horses. He never turned down an opportunity to go for a ride. His orchard and garden was a testament to his hard work and dedication. He took great joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with his family and friends. Above all, he was a devoted family man, who placed his loved ones and those he served above all else.
His faith was an integral part of Ron's life, and he expressed it through his service in many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a leader in the Special Needs Activities Program for many years, impacting countless lives along the way. He and Karla also served as missionaries in the Ogden Inner-City Mission, further extending their love and service to the community.
Preceding Ron in his journey are his parents, Clayton and Theone Anderson and his brother, Devon. His spirit lives on with his wife Karla; sons Scott (Malauna) Anderson, Matt (Sandy) Anderson, Justin (Becky) Anderson, and daughter Kristin (Rob) Phelps, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Also surviving are his brother, Gary (Earlene) Anderson and a sister, Launa (Don) Kienholz.
