Stanley Lynn Thompson, known affectionately to his friends and family as Stan, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024. Born in Tremonton, UT, on September 19, 1946, to Miles Oyler Thompson and Nola Steed Thompson, Stan was a man of resilience, faith, and adventure. He honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard and later built a fulfilling career as a carpenter, displaying an exceptional degree of skill and dedication. Stan was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his faith profoundly influenced his life's journey.
Stan was a devoted husband to Barbara "Ipo" Thompson, and together, they shared countless moments of love, joy, and understanding. Stan was also a loving father to his children, Kenny (Jen); Sherri (Josh); Jacob (Kristin); Tressie; Rylie (Valerie); Nesha (Kenny); Bradley; Carolyn; Simone; Mesina (Kevin); and Joshua. His 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His siblings, Laura; Annette; David (Nancy); Kevin (Charlotte), Jim; and Corey (Stacy) will remember him for his unwavering strength and love. He was greeted in heaven by his parents and sister Susan Thompson.
Stan was an adventurous soul who found solace in the great outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, and his adventurous spirit was a source of inspiration for his family and friends.
Stan will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his adventurous spirit. He lived his life fully, experiencing the world from the coasts of Alameda, California, to the streets of London, England, and finally settling in Brigham City, Utah.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at Myers Mortuary Brigham City Chapel 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held prior from 9:00-10:30am. Interment will follow in the Elwood Town Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
