William Bernell Toombs

Huntsville – William Bernell Toombs, 80, died December 29, 2009. He was born January 24, 1929 in Logan, Utah the son of William Wilford and Effie Nelson Toombs. He attended North Cache High School. Bernell served in the Army during WWII. He married Barbara Smith Huddleston in Pocatello, Idaho on July 2, 1970.

Bernell was a member of the Huntsville 2nd Ward. One of his most enjoyable callings was serving with his wife as Service Missionaries at Temple Square; they also served as Stake Missionaries.

He served as Justice of the Peace in Huntsville for many years. He enjoyed running his company Rightway Carpet Cleaning for over 20 years. Bernell liked bowling, basketball and softball.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; children Christine (Wendell) Neff of Ruby Valley, NV, Bob (Anna) Huddleston of Las Vegas, NV, Carol Widdison of Kaysville, UT, Marian (Shan) Hellstrom of No. Ogden, UT; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Marlan (Greta) Toombs of Logan and two sisters, Bevlyn (DeVon) Anderson of Las Vegas and Marie (Ken) Lindquist of Logan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert and step-son Bill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Huntsville 2nd Ward Chapel.

Interment in the Huntsville City Cemetery.
