Obituary

Jewelle Louise Merritt was born July 21, 1953 in Idaho Falls, ID.
She passed away on August 5, 2017 surrounded by family in Salt Lake City, UT.
On June 17, 1982 Jewelle was married for time and all eternity to her sweetheart Travis D. Merritt.
To this union came Shane, Leslie, Ryan and Vincent. Jewelle later received her Master’s Degree in Montessori at Weber State University. Shortly after receiving her degree she taught at Migrant Headstart school in Honeyville, UT for over 20 years. She truly loved the children and made them feel like they could conquer the world!
Jewelle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many callings. She loved attending the temple and had a strong testimony of the Gospel.
Jewelle is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Travis Merritt, sons: Shane (Leona) Merritt, Ryan Travis Merritt, and Vincent Lauran Merritt, five grandchildren: McKenzey, Jay, Cheyenne Merritt, LaurAnne Luthie, and Drayson Merritt. Siblings: Sharon Kay Hathaway, AdriAnne (Ron) Bowcutt, Sandra (Owen) St. Germain, Kevin (Cindy) Hathaway, Crystal (Danny) Sevy, and Allison (Robert) Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wylie and Olive Hathaway, brother Ronald Dennis Hathaway, daughters Holly Kay Merritt, and Leslie Lee Luthie.
Graveside services will be August 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, 325 S. 300 E., Brigham City, UT.
