Obituary

Richard Charles Curtis
November 23, 1949 - November 5, 2017

Richard Charles Curtis passed away in his home, November 5, 2017, due to complications related to cancer.

Richard was born in Ogden, Utah on November 23, 1949 to Charles and Edna Lusk Curtis.

As a youth, Richard traveled the world with his family. His dad was in the Airforce.
Later in life, he returned to live in Davis and Weber Counties. He attended Clearfield High and Weber State College.

Richard worked for the Union Pipe trades for 42 years. He was a Journeyman Pipefitter. He worked for Associated Piping and Engineering from 1972-1995, Harding Mechanical from 1995-2006, and Moss lndustrial lnc. from 2006-2016. Richard always had great respect for people in his trade. He developed a great love for Moss lndustrial, and his boss Frank Moss, where he retired.

Richard loved and cherished his wife, Kim. They were married for 36 years. Richard worked hard his whole life to support his loved ones, but his greatest investment of time has always been to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Richard made a new friend or saw an old friend wherever he went. He was kind, funny, and always willing to help someone in need (like a stranded lady on the side of a road.). Richard had a great love for nature and fishing. He loved teaching his daughter and his grandchildren how to fish. Richard had a great love for music, especially oldies and rock and roll. He knew almost every artist and song title.

Richard is survived by his wife, Kim Curtis; his daughters: Rachel Curtis (Richard) Hunter, Candice (Danny) Delgado, and Megan Voorhees; his siblings: Sandra Southwick, Maria Parkinson, Joe Contreras, and Freddy Contreras; and his grandchildren: Tasha, Nicole, Shaylee, Brock, and Everly.

Richard is proceeded in death by his son, Sky Curtis; his sister, Edna Anderson; and his previous wife, Pamela Crutchfield. They were divorced.

Special thanks to Chase and Shannon Bailey, Symbii home care/hospice, Dr. Hansen and staff, Utah Hematology Oncology, and McKay Dee staff that helped give us more time.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. Viewings will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning prior to the service from 11:30 to 12:30 P.M. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
