Philip C. Poulsen

BRIGHAM CITY - Philip Creig Poulsen 66, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 surrounded by his family at Ogden Regional Hospital.
Philip was born December 4, 1951 in Anchorage, Alaska. A son of Melvin Owen and Verne Irene O’Dell Poulsen.
He married Nancy Smith, together they had two children John and Lora. They were later divorced, he then married Regina Gunter. They had a son Kevin prior to divorcing.
Philip found his eternal partner, Deena Reese, they married September 2, 1984. He gained a son Benjamin and together they had two children, Cameron and Michelle. Philip and Deena were married for 33 years and were one of the first couples sealed in the Brigham City Temple on September 29, 2012.
He served his Country in the Army during the Vietnam war.
Philip was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he received his Priesthood and took his callings seriously. He was a Home Teacher, Door Greeter, and Ward Librarian.
Philip enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and embroidery. He was involved with various activities including bowling leagues, going to drive-in movies, attending theatrical plays and marching as one of the Reese’s Pieces in the Perry Parade.
Philip loved seeing and visiting people while riding his scooter, he tried to go the temple every day to pray for those in need.
Survived by his wife Deena Poulsen, children: John David Poulsen, Benjamin Scott (Tisha) Keller, Kevin Craig (Jacque) Poulsen, Cameron Skip Poulsen Sr. (Amanda), and Michelle JaNae (Kenneth) Shearer, 24 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Siblings: Ted (Kathy) Dodge, Melvin (Wanda) Dodge, John (Shel) Dodge, and Gary Poulsen.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lora Lynn Brewer, sister Joy Malan and many aunts and uncles. Along with his two ex-wives, Nancy and Regina.
Special thanks to Fred and Daleine Allen for always being there for us. Ted Dodge and the Brigham City 1st Ward for activating us back into the Church and assisting us through the temple. Ken Reese for being there through the hard times. Tanya Poulsen for continuing to be a special part of the family. Collette Anderson for devoting her love and service to Phil for over fifteen years. We would also like to express our gratitude to all those that blessed our lives.
Philip honorably finished his life long journey that God planned for him.
Memorial services will be Monday, January 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Brigham City 20th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Dr., Brigham City, UT.
The family will greet family and friends Sunday, January 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and on Monday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Myers Mortuary to help with the services.
