Cloelia Cox Chambers passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, March 5, 2018 at the Brigham City Community Hospital.
Cloelia was born April 10, 1935 in Woodruff, Utah to Elsie Lord Cox and Irvin James Cox. She had two brothers; Glen Irvin Cox, Verl J Cox, and a sister Marie Cox, who died at birth.
Cloelia graduated from Davis High School on a Friday and married her high school sweetheart, Verden B Chambers the following Monday, June 1, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 15, 1956.
She has six children, 19 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
Cloelia was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sister and her husband.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also a member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served in many callings in the church including as a Den Mother (her favorite), in the Relief Society Presidency, as well as the Primary Presidency, and many others. Cloelia loved the time she and Verden spent on their two missions to Nauvoo.
If you stopped by her home, you were expected to sit down and eat a meal with the family. She was famous for her homemade bread and rolls, her pickles, and anything she could fit in a bottle. She was a fabulous cook and was always ready to serve anyone in need.
She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. She will be greatly missed.
Cloelia is survived by her children: Scott (Paula), Yelm, Washington; Kendall (Peggy), Perry, Utah; Allen (Cynthia), Syracuse, Utah; Susann (Tim) Lunday, Cornish, Utah; Neal (Lisa), Perry, Utah and Sally (Kevin) Jeppesen, Perry, Utah.
