June 27, 1983 - March 4, 2018

On June 27, 1983, Jonah Shelby Blanch was born in Ogden, Utah. His parents are Scott and Lorrie Blanch. He grew up in West Ogden and attended Ogden City Schools. He fulfilled his High School graduation credits early and spent some of his High School Junior year and most of his Senior year at the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and also earned an HVAC Technician Accreditation from the ATC.

Jonah Shelby worked in the HVAC trade in Utah and Washington State. Two projects he was especially proud of were working on the Lodge at the top of Snow Basin during the Olympics build-up and the LDS Temple in Payson, Utah.

Jonah Shelby had a way with animals, especially dogs. They really took to him. He enjoyed his music and watching sporting events. He lived alone and had a home that required a lot of time and effort to maintain; a big lawn, lots of trees and lots of leaves. He did his best to stay on top of it all. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially in the fall. He was a good cook and was a connoisseur of hot chili peppers. Did we mention his passion for art, which was expressed through his many tattoos. He loved his family as they loved him.

Jonah Shelby is survived by his parents and his sister, Hannah Gard, and brother-in-law, Josh Gard. He also leaves behind nephews and nieces; Cade, Luke and Nox, and Bailey, Tagen, and Mylee. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his uncle, Troy Ray Blanch (Bootne).

A viewing will be held for family and friends on Sunday, March 11 from 5 to 7 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. There will be a short graveside good-bye at 10 am on Monday, March 12 at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden.

The family would like to thank all of Jonah Shelby's friends, neighbors and work associates who looked out for him through the years. You know who you are and we are forever grateful for all you did. We will never forget.
