Darril Wayne Helquist

Ogden � Darril Wayne Helquist peacefully returned home surrounded by his loving family on November 18, 2010 at home. He was born January 13, 1951 in Murray, Utah to Phyllis Louise Ditlevsen and Boyd LaCon Helquist. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1969 and attended Weber State University. He served an LDS Mission to Pennsylvania in 1970. He married Debbie Tanton November 6, 1976 in Brigham City; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on November 11, 1978.

Darril worked for Thiokol in the Quality Assurance Department.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, and riding his motorbike. He enjoyed going to car shows and restoring his Camaro with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughters. He always put his family first and lent a helping hand to others. He was very honest and will be missed by many friends and his loving wife of 34 years.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; son Ryan (Emily) Helquist and Haley, Jentry; daughter, Mandy (Matt) Downs and Akela, Kennedy, Cassie; sister, Susan (Alton) Speakman and brother, Boyd (Bonnie) Helquist. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jody Cay Helquist.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Mt. Lewis 4th Ward, 550 E. 900 N., Ogden, Utah. Friends may call at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Tuesday, November 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
