Community and Charity

Shaun and Christina Myers, their children and Shriners Hospital have sponsored Victoria, a young triple amputee girl from Guayaquil, Ecuador, to come to the United States to receive prosthetic arms and a leg.

Victoria was the victim of an accidental electrocution and in an attempt to save her life, she lost both her arms and leg. Every 18 months the Myers family arranges transportation from Ecuador and scheduling for Victoria’s treatments and therapy while she and her mother stay in the Myers home.

“Victoria is a cheerful, delightful young woman, who faces her challenges in life with complete optimism. Our family is blessed to have the honor of knowing her and assisting her in some small way”, says Shaun Myers. “The most important thing we have learned from her is to face life with a positive attitude and to only look for the good things in everything”.
