Bobbie Lindsay Obituary

Bobbie Jean Clark Lindsay, 88, died January 29, 2023, at Sunridge Assisted Living from natural causes. She was born December 6, 1934, in Brunswick, Georgia, the daughter of William Cornelius Clark and Myrtle Ribron.

Bobbie grew up in Georgia with her parents and six siblings. She enjoyed playing the clarinet in the band and was the first clarinet for the last two years of high school. She attended the Episcopal church with her mother throughout her childhood. When she was 14, she met some missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through her aunt. She realized she wanted to be baptized, but her mother didn’t want her to be baptized. She attended both churches for several years. She was baptized at 17 years of age.

She met her husband, Mark, in 1950. He was a missionary in the area. After he completed his mission, they communicated through letters and phone calls. When she graduated from high school, he asked her to marry him. They were married on June 12, 1953, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Mark and Bobbie were the proud parents of three children: Deborah, Darla, and Don. Bobbie loved her family and always made them a priority in her life. She was passionate about family history and spent countless hours researching her family’s history. Bobbie loved sharing stories about her ancestors with her family.

Bobbie worked for the IRS. By the time she retired, she was a senior tax examiner. She was proud of the work that she did with the IRS. She also spent several years working for Matrix Marketing as a telemarketer.

Bobbie proudly served in many callings for the church. She loved teaching. She was the gospel doctrine teacher for her church for many years. She loved the time she spent learning the scriptures and sharing with other ward members. She was a member of the Hooper 3rd ward for over fifty years.

Bobbie is survived by her three children, Deborah (Bruce), Darla, and Don (Linda). She is the proud grandparent of eleven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband (Mark), parents, siblings, a grandchild (Valerie Ann), and a great-grandchild (Peter).
