John Jaussi Obituary

John L Jaussi passed away at the age of 81 on March 29th, 2024. He is survived by his children, Michael Jaussi, Christopher Jaussi (Corinne), Geneva Jaussi, Elizabeth (Dave) McEuen, Paul (Kristin) Jaussi; and 10 grandchildren.

John was born October 3, 1942 in Montpelier, ID. His parents were Rolland and Jean Jaussi. In 1966, he graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors Degree. John married the love of his life, Sandra Christiansen on May 8th, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple.

As a young boy John grew up in Montpelier and Fish Haven, Idaho and attended high school at Logan High School. He was an avid reader and played the piano very well. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days in the Switzerland Mission.

John was a talented teacher and started his teaching career in Rawlings, Wyoming. A year later he moved to Coalville, Utah and began teaching English at North Summit High School. There he met the love of his life, Sandy Christiansen who was also teaching at North Summit High School. The two of them dated and rest is a wonderful history of love and dedication to each other, to their family and to the Lord.

In 1984 John helped start and manage the mosquito abatement department for Summit County. He worked for the mosquito abatement during the summer time for over 40 years. In 1997, John received a Master Degree in Education Counseling. He worked for North Summit High School both as a teacher and as a counselor around 36 years.

John’s family was his greatest joy. He gave everything he had to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to travel with his wife Sandy. John served in many callings in the Church including High Councilman, a Counselor in multiple Bishoprics, Bishop, Ward Clerk, Finance Clerk, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher.

Heavenly Father took back one of its greatest angels. John was an amazing person, not only because of his intelligence, wit, and kindness but because he truly loved us. We will love you to the moon and back.
