Nelda (Graham) Price

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our feisty mama, Nelda Graham Price. As mom would say, we are now “officially orphans.”

Nelda was born on December 22, 1939. She was the fifth child of Orville and Olga Graham. She grew up on a dairy farm in Eden and loved to ride her horse bareback and raise the baby lambs. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and played the organ for Sunday services (EVEN when she was ill). She attended school at Valley Elementary/Junior High, graduated from Weber High, and earned her cosmetology degree at Hollywood Beauty School.

In 1960, Nelda married Delbert Lee Price and together they raised three daughters. Nelda was a devoted stay-at-home mom and was actively involved in PTA and the girls’ extracurricular activities. They were members of the Pineview Yacht Club for many years and cherished their summer boating adventures.

Nelda went to work at Rainbow Gardens after her youngest daughter graduated from high school. She was in charge of her favorite area of the store, the kitchen department. She loved the customers and the friendships she made there.

Some of Nelda’s favorite things were dipping chocolates at Christmas, cooking Sunday dinners, sewing, baking, embroidery, and talking on the phone. She was an avid reader and loved sharing a good book. She would check the Standard Examiner every day, saying, “I’m just looking to see if my obituary is in here.”

Nelda's grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She delighted in their visits and showered them with love. Nothing was better than spending the day with Grandma and Grandpa Fudge making candy and playing board games. She also adored her sons-in-law, who she treated like her own sons and greatly appreciated all of their “free labor”.

Our mom was quite the character. Although our dad was the truck driver, it was mom who spoke like one. We never knew what would come out of her mouth - the paper wouldn’t let us print our favorite “Nelda-isms.”

Mom was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and put up a good fight. She was so brave through it all. We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital who went above and beyond for our mom. We also wanted to say a special thanks to her dear friend, Carol, for checking on mom every night over the years and making sure she locked her doors.

Nelda is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Kim and Scott Felter, Tracy and James Threlkeld, Tara and Todd John; her beloved grandchildren, Alyx and Steve Jeppesen, Jordon Felter, Jesse and Amanda Felter, Parker Siglin, Emily Threlkeld, Rylee John, and Boston John; her adored great grandchildren, Maelee, Hudson and Jackson Felter and Londyn and Fynn Jeppesen; her brother, Wayne Graham, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Nelda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Annette Harris, Rena

Stallings, Lee Graham, and Norene Doxy.

We are going to miss this feisty li’l lady and her unconditional love. We love you mom, you will forever be in our hearts.

Viewings will be held in Nelda’s honor on Sunday, April 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Monday, April 29 from 9:30-10:30 am at Myers Mortuary - 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden Utah. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 29 at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
