Thomas Dale Woodring, passed away on March 13, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 22, 1947 to William Milroy and Irene Roger Woodring, in Sterling Illinois.
Thomas Dale Woodring served in the military in the United States Air Force. He has given the United States Air Force sterling service for 20 years. The last job he held at McClellan AFB was Superintendent of Power Production.
After retiring from active duty, he landed a job as a civilian federal government employee working for the USAF at McClellan Air Force Base. He transferred to Hill Air Force Base when McClellan AFB closed. He was a dynamic and an indefatigable worker who served the US government for another 20 years with sterling service.
He loved music. He has passion for guitars and guitar playing. He played guitar and sang in the Catholic Choir in the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Community at McClellan AFB and then at the Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Community at Hill AFB. He served in the Catholic Choir for over 30 years.
He loved the music of the Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Country Music.
After retiring from his civilian job, every year in the summer, he traveled to Europe with his wife.
The Gospel of Matthew 25:35 describes Tom very well. He was a compassionate, kind, and a generous man. Many people told me, his wife that he was a wonderful guy. He was very giving. He is the kind of guy who will take off his coat and give it to someone in need. When he shopped, he handed candies to people.
Tom Woodring lived a good life. Mission accomplished! He is now in heaven with God!
Thomas is survived by his wife, Ofelia Woodring; his daughter, Susana Woodring; his grandsons, Logan Schaefer, Kaleb Heckman; his sisters, Viola Lenhart, Beola Sandretto, Joyce Woodring; and all of his nieces and nephews.
