Bruce Williams Obituary

Bruce Ray “Willie” Williams

Bruce Ray “Willie” Williams, 70, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on August 6, 2019 after spending the day golfing with his friends and gambling with his wife.

Willie was born October 11, 1948, in Salina, Kansas to Raymond Lloyd and Lois Emily (Hall) Williams. He was the middle child, lovingly set between his older brother, Brock Williams and little sister, Kay Rauzi Farnsworth. Born into a military family, Willie spent the first 12 years of his life in Shreveport, Louisiana. The family then moved to Ogden where he attended and graduated from Ben Lomond High School.

Willie met his bride and the love of his life, Roxann Wall, in 1977. After dating for five years, they married in the shadows of the Teton Mountains in Kelly, Wyoming. Two sons followed shortly joining their step-sister, EvVett Keller Knaggs, who Willie loved like his own. Darren Ryan Williams was born on October 27, 1982 and Travis Ray Williams was born April 23, 1985.

Willie and Roxann were married 37 years spending much of their time traveling on their Harley Davidson, golfing and shooting pool.

He made a living in the construction industry working in maintenance and as a heavy machinery operator. He worked for Western General Construction as a crane operator. He finished his career and retired in 2014 from GSL Minerals.

There was always a good time and a little trouble to be had with Willie. He was a great guy to hang out with and have a beer with. His absence will be profoundly felt by his family and many friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Roxann; son, Darren (Katie Gaz); son, Travis (Stephanie Carroll); step-daughter, EvVett; sister, Kay (Randy) Farnsworth; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brock (Judy) Williams; and brother-in-law, Ken Rauzi.

A viewing will be held August 16 from 6 to 8 pm at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 17 at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of life to be held Saturday, August 17 at 6 pm at the Barn Golf Course.
