Louise "Louisa" Rivera Obituary

Louisa, age 58, of Ogden, Utah passed away on January 5, 2020.  She was born April 4, 1961, in Ogden Utah to Maria (Tillie) Baca and John (Louie) Leyba.  She grew up in West Point, Utah and has six brothers and sisters Leroy, Lindy, Louie, Mari, Nina, and Selvia.  Her father passed away when she was six months old and her mother married Gerardo Alvarez who helped raise her and her siblings.

Louisa married Antonio Rivera.  They were together since 1998.  She graduated from Clearfield High School and went to Weber State.  She loved to watch TV.  Every time you saw her she had a remote in her hand.  She loved music and loved to dance.

Louisa is survived by her husband, Antonio Rivera of Layton; parents, Maria (Tillie) Alvarez and Gerardo Alvarez; son, Valentino Leyba (Maxine) of Ogden, Cypriano “Cyp” Leyba (Rose) of Albuquerque, Louis Caballero (Mystic Sorensen) of Ogden, Maria Carmen Caballero (Mike Fish) of Ogden, and 13 Grandchildren.  Siblings: Leroy Leyba (Veronica), Lindy Leyba, John “Louie” Leyba (Diane), Mari Solorzano (Juan), Nina Kodele, Selvia Chapman (Randy), and many nieces and nephews and cousins and friends and her daughter (pet) Cleo, who brought so much joy to Louisa’s life.

Preceded in death by her father John Louis Leyba, Grandma Carlota and Carlos Baca, Grandma Fidelia and Joe Leyba, her angel granddaughter Rhumer, her aunt (sister) Geraldine, aunt Ruth Gonzales, uncle Felix Baca, Pat Baca, Ricky Baca, Laura Gonzales, Santiago “Jimmy” Leyba and Larry Leyba.

We would like to give a big thanks to Aunt Judy Zamora, who took care of Louisa and was her best friend.  I know you are looking down on us now with love and I know you’re dancing and having a good time being the life of the party like you were, when you were here with us.  Know that you are loved by many and we will never forget you.  All the memories, we all have of you will live on forever.  You are an angel. I love you.

God looked around his garden

and found an empty space

Then He looked down upon this earth

and saw your tired face

He put his arms around you

and lifted you to rest

God's garden must be beautiful

He only takes the best
