Marilyn Alene Minjares, 73, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019. She was born July 3, 1946 in Laredo, TX to Robert Martin Norris and Imogene Key Norris. She married Andres Minjares on April 18, 1987 in Layton, UT.
Marilyn grew up in Texas. She has lived in Utah for over 50 years. Marilyn worked at ATK Thiokol as an administrative assistant and Bear River Mental Health as a medical transcriptionist. She loved to read, latch hook, and crochet. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching and feeding hummingbirds. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and an excellent cook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Andres and children: Ronald (Tracy) Hazen; Lorrina (Josh) Baker; Brandy (Scottie) Durrant; Andres (Carol) Minjares Jr.; Angelo (Tiffani) Minjares; Lana (Brad James) Minjares, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Shelee Spangler, sisters JoAnn Goodwin and Bobbie Gagon, and brother Rocky Norris.
Marilyn’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Heritage Park for their love and care of Marilyn.
The family will gather in a private celebration of her life and ask that you honor her by doing some act of kindness for someone.
