William Lawrence Griggs, 83 passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Ogden Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Bill was born February 28, 1936 in Driggs, Idaho the ninth of ten children to Emily Boweter and Lawrence Griggs.
He served his country during the Korean War in the Navy.
Bill married Sharon Pauline Stewart January 12, 1970 in Elko, NV. They were married for almost 50 years.
He retired from Thiokol/ATK.
Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving as the ward greeter prior to meetings and the friendships cultivated throughout the years with ward members.
He enjoyed sitting by the fireplace reading, his cat “KitKat”, getting breakfast at McDonalds and a morning drive in the country with Sharon, which he did for the past 25 years. He loved playing Legos with the grandkids and family gatherings. He treasured playing games and memories of Yellowstone camping trips with his family over the years.
Surviving are his wife Sharon, children: Denise (Mark) Wilcox; Marcia Fryer; and son Dale (Shelly) Fryer, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, son Wade Fryer and son-in-law Gene Cordova.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Brigham City 7th Ward Chapel, 531 N. 100 W., Brigham City, UT.
Friends may meet with family from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Church.
