Afton Marjorie Butler Nye Obituary (1921 - 2008)

AFTON MARJORIE BUTLER NYE OGDEN- Afton M. Nye, 86, died April 5, 2008 at the Crestwood Care Center of causes incident to age. She was born June 2, 1921, in Marriott, Utah. The daughter of Royal Harvey Butler and Essa May Davis Hoggen. On August 14, 1939 she married Donald O. Nye in Evanston, Wyoming, together they were parents to ten cherished children. The marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was a dedicated mother and housewife. She was a member of the Mound Fort 1st Ward. She was a life long resident in the Ogden area. She has waited 19 years to be reunited with the love of her life and eternal companion who she always remembered and thought of. Surviving are four sons and five daughters, Gary and Susan Nye, Marriott; Ronald and Marlene Nye, North Ogden; Curtis and Virginia Nye, West Warren; Tyrone and MarLee Nye, West Haven; Connie Harding, Woods Cross; Dawn and Timothy Chatelain, Melbourne, Australia (LDS mission), Deborah and Elmer Yates, Brigham City; Annette and Wayne Wilson, Ogden; Teresa and Rick Stevens, Greely, CO. 37 grandchildren and 86 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Milton and Jeanine Butler; one Sister Donna and Grant Probst. She was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Essie Butler; Husband, Donald O. Nye; son Leonard Larry Nye; one brother, Alford Roy Butler; five sisters, Dora Gull; Viola Child Turley; Minnie Kimball Fernileus; Leona Child Benson, and Irene Butler; grandson, Brett Nye; granddaughter, Brenda Nye. Thanks to Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Hospice, for their care and Kindness.
