Albert Elliott Martin, Jr Obituary (1944 - 2006)

PERRY - Albert Elliott Martin, 62, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Albert Elliott Martin, Jr. was born April 13, 1944 in Albany, Oregon. He was the son of Albert Elliott Martin, Sr. and Susie May Wilder. Albert was direct descendent of Captain George Donner and Elitha Cumi Donner. He was proud of this pioneer history. He was educated in Sacramento County Schools; he attended Weber State College in Ogden, UT, and attended Aveonic Tech. Schools in Oklahoma City, OK and Denver CO. Albert Married Marlene M. Wild on September 17, 1964, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding positions through the years, Albert had a love of the outdoors and scouting, and passed that interest to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Perry 7th Ward. Albert had a love for life and learning, and was interested in, mechanics, electronics, design, photography and construction. He was interested in travel and many outdoor sports; he loved to travel with his family and was an avid fisherman and photographer. He taught all of his twelve grandchildren, to fish, and they won many fishing awards. He was interested in family history, and antiques, and was knowledgeable on these subjects. Albert loved to share his skills and know how with friends and neighbors, especially his family and his best friend and wife. He loved good conversation with everyone, and was always interested in learning from others. Albert loved being a grandpa, and said his greatest joy was his family, he always had time and resources to share with them. Albert was employed by Hill Air Force Base for 30 years, and had many friends there, he worked at Computer Systems and Aveonics, and retired January 1996. Albert was the father of four children and grandfather of thirteen grandchildren. Albert had nine brothers and sisters, Mike De Simone, Reno, NV; Allen Martin, Fortuna, CA; Alberta Martin Hail, Sacramento, CA; Wilhelmina Easterling, Vail, AZ; Mike Martin, Galt, CA; Melvin Martin, Chico, CA; Dorothy Nuzzo, St. George, UT; and beloved cousins, Ora Muroka, Galt, CA; Alice Baker, Lodi, CA. Albert was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister and one brother and a granddaughter. We as a family know while we are mourning for our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother he is marveling at the life after this. We wish to thank Dr. Vincent Hansen and staff, also Dr. Wipple and staff for their care and great kindness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard Stake Center, 658 West 2250 South, Perry, Utah. Friends may call on Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Friday from 10:00 to10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
