Aldous Lamont Manning Obituary (1938 - 2006)

A. LAMONT "PETE" MANNING HOOPER - A. Lamont Manning passed away at his home in Hooper, Utah Monday, January 17, 2006. He was born September 14, 1938 in Ogden, Utah to C. Aldous and June Russell Manning. He was raised in Hooper and graduated from Weber High School. Monte married Diane Klev. They were later divorced. He worked for Delmonte Corp. before moving to California. He returned to Utah in 1984, due to health problems. He received a lung transplant in 1998, allowing him some better health for a few years. He was proud to be a 71/2 year transplant survivor, and enjoyed driving his truck in parades to show support for organ donation. Monte was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed associating with his friends at church every Sunday. He also enjoyed rodeos and bowling. The family would like to thank the lung-transplant dept. at the University of Utah for their concern and care over the years. A special thanks to Dr. Barbara Cahill and her staff. Monte is survived by his three brothers Russell (Pat) Bountiful; Bart (Karen) Hooper; Jeff (Susan) Roy; six nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 8th Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper. Family and friends may call on Friday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Hooper Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the University of Utah Lung Transplant Department, 540 Arapen Drive, Ste #130, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108.
