Alene Gleed Bodily Obituary (1920 - 2018)

Alene Gleed Bodily Syracuse - Alene Gleed Bodily, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield. Alene was born September 19, 1920 in Malad, ldaho. She graduated from Malad High School in 1938. Alene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many callings in the Church organizations. ln 1939 Alene met the love of her life, Eldon J Bodily (Jay), at the White City Ballroom in Ogden. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 19,1940. She lived in Syracuse her entire married life. She worked at Ogden Arsenal until it closed, then worked and retired from Hill AFB in 1974. After retiring, Alene and Jay spent the winter months in Mesa, AZ, where they made many new friends. Alene was a member of "Daughters of the Utah Pioneers", she took great pride in her pioneer heritage. She enjoyed Quilting, Crocheting, Japanese Needlepoint and spending time with family and friends. Alene is survived by her two sons Jerry (Anna), Lafayette, CA, and Brent (Connie), Syracuse, UT, four granddaughters, Mari Anne Rollins, Andrea Call, Ali Marie Bodily and Haley Ann Bodily, seven great-grandchildren, Spencer Rollins, Jay Rollins, lsaac Rollins, Jessica Rollins, Bailey Call, Sadie Call, Macey Call and one great great- granddaughter, Rebecca Rollins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 25,2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the Syracuse Wilcox Meadows Ward Chapel, 700 South 2500 West, Syracuse, Utah. Family and friends may call prior toservices on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. - 10.30 a.m., at the church. lnterment Syracuse City Cemetery.
