Amelia (Mae) Ropelato Degiorgio Obituary (1922 - 2013)

Amelia (Mae) Ropelato Degiorgio Amelia (Mae) Ropelato Degiorgio passed away on December 18, 2013. Mae was born in Cumberland, Wyoming, on January 22, 1922, to Albano and Caroline Ropelato. She and her six siblings spent their childhood on the Union Pacific Ranch in Wyoming. On November 12, 1946, she married David Degiorgio. Dave and Mae moved to West Weber where they operated a dairy farm. Dave died in 1993. Mae was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she taught catechism, was active in the Altar Society, and was a member of the St. Madeline's Guild. She loved handiwork, quilting, cooking, and was the perfect Italian Nonna to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the community. She is survived by her children and their spouses- David and Annette Degiorgio, Carol and Richard Herold, John and Patrece Degiorgio; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and her sister Lillian Harrower. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, at 2:30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary at 6, and from 1:30 to 2:10 p.m. on Monday at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard. Interment: Ogden City Cemetery. .
