Antero Miguel Sanchez Obituary (1941 - 2022)

Our beloved father and grandfather, Antero Miguel Sanchez Montalvan, 81, was called back home to our Heavenly Father to be reunited with his eternal companion Juana. He passed away from a stroke on January 27, 2022, in Ogden, Utah. He was born on January 3, 1941, in Lunahuana, Peru to Miguel Jose Sanchez and Sofia Catalina Montalvan. Antero married Juana Alicia Guizada. He loved to travel and served as a Merchant Marine before being introduced to the LDS Church, he was baptized in March 1975. From 1976 to 1988 he valiantly and selflessly served as Bishop and Stake President in Lima Peru. He opened four wards as a bishop and created over 7 stakes while being the Stake President. He was self-employed as an electrician in Lima, Peru. Within weeks after the Lima, Peru Temple dedication was completed, Antero took his wife and his seven children to be sealed for time and all eternity on February 1, 1986. At the end of 1988, he brought his wife and family to the United States for a better life and open new opportunities for his children. He served in the L.A. Temple as an electrician and later worked with honor in the Jordan River Temple for several years. In his later years, he moved to Ogden and with great effort served as a family history consultant in Spanish. He is survived by his children Mabel, Johanna, Harold, Antero, Reynold, and Evelyn, 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Napoleon, grandson Joshua, sisters Juana and Gladys. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 5, 2022, 12noon at Washington Terrace 1st Ward, 4210 South 300 West, Riverdale, Utah. Viewings will be Friday, February 4, 2022, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, and prior to services 11:00 - 11:40 a.m. at the church. Interment at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Antero's funeral service will be livestreamed.
