Arthur Henry Bellingham Obituary (1924 - 2012)

Arthur Henry Bellingham So. Ogden - Arthur Henry Bellingham, 87, died January 8, 2012. He was born October 14, 1924 in Detroit, MI the son of Aurthur H. and Priciliae Bellingham. He attended high school in Detroit and attended Portland Community College; where he played baseball. Art served his country during WWII in the Navy and fought at Iwo Jima. Art married Carol Ann Hayward in 1954; she passed away in 1979. He married Clara Jean Singleton Kapp in 1982. Art was raised Catholic, joined the Protestant Church and later joined the Masons. He was very active in the Masons and Shriners. He loved the organization for their service in the community and traveled with the Oriental Band to many parades around Utah. He loved shooting with his friends, Mike Tomkinson and Stan Wright, motorcycle riding and watching the Jazz and his grandson playing sports. Art is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Steve (Tammy) Bellingham, Seattle, WA, Lisa (David) Scott, SLC, UT; step-sons, Neldon (Jan) Kapp, Willard, UT and Val (Diane) Kapp, Farr West, UT; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and his first wife. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Plain City Cemetery.
