Charlyne Wise Obituary (1933 - 2022)

Charlyne was born in Logan, Utah on June 11, 1933, to Orval and Leatha (Wheeler) Smith. Charlyne enjoyed her childhood life on the family farm in Preston, Idaho with her hard-working family. Her father picked up milk from the local farmers, delivering it to the processing plant. Her mother was a homemaker and avid gardener. These traits became evident in Charlyne in her later life, in her own work ethic and gardening skills. Charlyne married Earl Grant Wise on February 19, 1954, in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were happily married 63 years and raised 5 children in Sunset, Utah. She spent these years as a homemaker until her youngest child entered junior high. She then began working at the local dentist office, where she gained many friends from the local community. Charlyne loved gardening, painting, and feeding anyone in need. In her later years, you could not visit her without a trip to the garden. She could be seen daily, pushing her walker around Sunset, visiting with everyone she encountered. Charlyne was an active member of the Sunset 2nd ward and held many positions. She enjoyed her work with youth the most. Charlyne and Earl Grant had 5 children: Janet (Terry) Pendley, Jay, Paul (Jamie), Dale (Brenda), and Kent (Michelle). She loved spending time with her children, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Myrna, her husband Earl Grant, and daughter Janet (Jan) Pendley. She is survived by her sister Tammy Kelly. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 8:30-9:45 a.m. All services will be at Myers Mortuary at 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Interment will be in the Garland Cemetery next to her beloved husband and amid many generations of Wise family members.
