Claudia Kay "Kayie" Roylance Powers Obituary (1945 - 2014)

Claudia Kay Roylance Powers "Kayie" Kayie Powers, of North Ogden, passed away on March 31, 2014. She was born February 3, 1945 in Escondido, CA to William Albert and Zudora Vivian Wiseman Roylance. She married David Powers February 11, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kayie was raised in Huntsville and attended Valley Elementary and Junior High and graduated from Weber High School. She also attended Weber State College where she received an Associate Degree in Electronics. Kayie worked at HAFB as an Air Craft Electrician with the F4's and part time at Ben Lomond Lanes. She was a master quilter winning many awards for her quilts. She enjoyed family gatherings, holidays, fishing, camping and RVing. She and her husband held season tickets for the Raptors since 1994 when they came to town. She was outgoing, giving and helpful to family and friends and was always active in some project. Kayie is survived by her husband, David; her daughters Rebecca "Beckie" (Jessie) Davis of Ogden and Jennifer Rutherford of Georgia; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and her brother Gregory (Julie) Roylance of Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ronald, Janice Ruiter and Clifford Jay. Per Kayie's request she will be cremated and private services will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the Utah Hematology and Oncology Center, Dr. Harold Johnson and nursing staff, Dr. Edward Jordan and Dr. Michael Woolman and his nurse, Rita. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Share Inc., Food Pantry of Ogden, 801-399-5046 in Kayie's name. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
