Ogden - Cynthia (Cindy) Elaine Osborne Candland, a beautiful, bright light in our lives', was taken away from us on September 12, 2014. She was the daughter of Brian and Norma Osborne and sister of Christine Brooks.

Cindy was born November 5, 1963 in Gainesville, Florida and was raised in a Military family. She had the opportunity to travel and see the world when she was young. She was married to Richard David Candland Jr. and they were blessed with three beautiful children; Stephanie (Ryan) Holmes, Heather Candland and Bryan Candland. She also had a beautiful granddaughter, Ellie and another one on the way.

She was a Nursing Professor at Weber State University and the Ogden Weber ATC. She also was a nurse at McKay Dee Hospital. Cindy earned her Master's Degree in Nursing in 2009. She was an advocate and mentor to many in the field of Medical Education and Nursing.

She positively touched many lives as a daughter, sister, mother, friend, educator and nurse. There will be a big void in our family and the community that knew her.

Cindy had a beautiful smile, an optimistic attitude and she never complained. She loved life and tried to make the best of everything in spite of life's challenges and trials. She loved to exercise, eat healthy, ride bikes, go to church and spend time with her beloved family.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Washington Heights Church, 1770 E. 6200 So., South Ogden. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 12 to 1:10 p.m. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary

In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made to the Candland Trust Fund at America First Credit Union for support and education for Cindy's and David's children.

David's memorial service will proceed at 11 a.m. at the same location.
