Deloy Johnson Obituary (1932 - 2015)

DeLoy Johnson BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend, DeLoy Johnson, 83, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was born June 18, 1932 in Logan, Utah a son of Herman Becker Johnson Jr. and Carrol Maria Taylor. He was raised in Logan, Utah and attended Logan High School. He served in the United States Army where he fought in the Korean War. DeLoy married his sweetheart, Arlene Erickson, on February 22, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Brigham City 20th Ward. DeLoy worked as a construction superintendent for 50 years with Fife Rock Products. DeLoy loved his family: Especially his "Angel" and the love of his life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and anything to do with the outdoors. He loved spending time at his cabin in Lava Hot Springs, horseback riding, chariot racing, and the USU Aggies. If there was a piece of construction equipment and dirt, DeLoy was never far away. Surviving are his children: Janet (Frank) Call, Jeanie Johnson, Michael (Lisa) Johnson, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and brother Leigh Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arlene; sister Dorothy; brother Herman and grandson Tyler B. Call. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S.100 E. Brigham City, UT. There will be viewings held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded.
