Deverell Max Morgan Obituary (1940 - 2015)

BRIGHAM CITY - Deverell Max Morgan, 75, passed away in Brigham City, Utah on September 15, 2015, after a life of love and service. Deverell was born in Brigham City to Max and Dorothea Jones Morgan on May 10, 1940, and was raised with two sisters, Donna and Connie, and two brothers, Harvey and Blynn. He loved athletics, hunting, and fishing, and shared these activities growing up as well as with his own family as they grew. A graduate of Box Elder High Class of 1958, he made life-long friends and attended USU and Weber State. He served his LDS Church in the Southern California Mission 1960-1962. He married RaDene Reeve in the Logan Temple on November 25, 1963, and they made their home in Brigham City, where they reared seven children. He was employed for twenty years at Precision-Bilt Homes; then he worked at Thiokol and retired from Autoliv in 2003. Dee enjoyed the friends and co-workers from these jobs Deverell loved his Savior and spent many hours serving in Church callings; twice as Bishop of the Brigham 16th Ward, in two Stake Presidencies, and wherever he was needed, especially enjoying his work with the youth. He and RaDene treasured serving a Hawaii Honolulu Mission 2004-2005 and as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. His greatest joy was family; he seldom missed a game, program, or activity of his children and later of his grandchildren. He loved having family visit and celebrated together. During retirement years, he traveled extensively with his wife, and his favorite trip was taking 41 family members on a cruise to celebrate 50 years of marriage. Deverell loved life and never lost his sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and his sisters, Donna (Rulon) Smoot and Connie (LeRoy) Craner. He is survived by his brothers, Harvey (Bonnie) and Blynn, his wife RaDene, and seven children and their spouses: Teresa (Darryl) Marble, Kevin (Angie), Kirk (Tammy), Melanie (Ryan) Christensen, Mitch (Lorissa), Allyson (Lee) Elkington, and Matt (Jessica). He is cherished by 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Extended family and friends have enriched his life. Funeral services will be held at the Brigham City 16th Ward, 550 South 200 West, on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
