Dezella Dean Minchey Behunin Wilde Carroll 5/6/1915 - 3/7/2009 "Together Again" SANDY - On March 7, 2009 our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called home to be with her eternal companion surrounded by loved ones from both sides of the veil. Dezella Carroll was born on May 6, 1915 in Altonah, Utah to Theda Ann and William Edgar Minchey. She married Elden Daniel Behunin, a handsome cowboy, on July 7, 1930 after a three day courtship in Duschene County Utah. That marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Dezella and Elden had nine children, Eldean, Verna Lee, Rose Ann, Georgia Jane, Jackie LaVille, Terri Lorraine, Joe Ramon and twins Dezella Jean and Della Irene. She had lived in Altonah, UT, Spring Canyon, UT, Idaho Falls, ID, Grand Junction, CO and since 1942 in Ogden, UT. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; with an unwavering testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ; and served in many callings, touching the lives of thousands. She had been a Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President and had many other callings all of which she magnified to the full extent of her faith. After his conversion, Elden and Dezella served a two year Stake Mission and were responsible for numerous baptisms. She was a member and officer in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and had received the Weber County Volunteer of the Year Award at the age of eighty- eight. She was an active member of TOPS. She was an avid doll collector. For sixteen years she collected and donated over 3000 dolls to the Salvation Army at Christmas. She also was a volunteer for 16 years at the Lewis Elementary School with their reading program. After the passing of Elden on July 10, 1963 she married Charles Walton Wilde on August 8, 1964, and later married Peter J. Carroll after the death of Charles. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Elden D. Behunin; her second husband Charles W. Wilde and her third husband Peter J. Carroll. She was also preceded in death by four of her children Eldean Behunin, Verna Lee Cook, Rose Ann Bell and Georgia Jane House and several grand-children. Surviving are her sister Della Clark of Ogden, UT and children Jackie and James M. Gailey of Sunset, Terri and Joe D. Burton of Parker, CO, Joe R. and Marilyn Behunin of Sandy, UT, Dezella Jean and Hank Kay of South Ogden, Della and David Coombs of Plain City, UT and step-son Ray Carroll. She is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law Ken Cook of Ogden, Albert Eugene Bell of Brigham, F. Milo House of Roy, Ruth Ann Behunin of Tacoma, WA and LaRae White of North Ogden. She leaves behind 47 grandchildren; 118 great-grandchildren and 56 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Manor Care Staff, Hospice of Utah and her special friend Thelma Tripp. Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 12 Noon, at the Pioneer Ward Chapel located at 21st and Jefferson. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden on Friday, March 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church prior to services from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment, Washington Height Memorial Park.
