Diana Wilcox Clarke
1970 ~ 2017 recording.
Diana Wilcox Clarke returned to her heavenly home with her eternal companion on Wednesday July 26, 2017, from a tragic airplane crash near the Ogden Utah Airport. She was born on November 5, 1970 in Reno, Nevada to parents F. Blair and Myrna Zaugg Wilcox. Though she came in the black of night, she was truly their sunshine. Diana was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and "nana". She was always a peacemaker and loved bringing people together. During her father's long terminal illness, she was his greatest cheerleader. Though she was very young, Diana would leave notes of encouragement on his pillow and made countless Get Well cards.
Diana lived in Reno, Nevada until she was six years old before moving with her family to Layton, Utah. She graduated from Layton High School and LDS seminary in 1989. She attended Ricks College for one year then during her summer break she met the love of her life, Layne Clarke. They were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple for time and all eternity on September 21, 1990.
She was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served selflessly and with love in many callings. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the youth, most recently as the Ward Young Women's President and currently, as the Stake Young Women's President. Diana had a deep love for her Savior that was evident in the way that she served. She was a very devoted mother who raised her children in the gospel and taught them to love their Savior. For Diana, family always came first. She was found at countless football games, water polo games, bike races, swim meets, dance recitals, triathlons and any event her children or husband were a part of. She participated in a few events herself but preferred to be their cheerleader on the sidelines. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family at their cabin in Island Park, Idaho.
As a loving mother, she worked tirelessly alongside her children teaching them the importance of service, hard work, kindness, patience, charity, and love. These are the attributes that defined her life.
Diana is survived by her four children, Alexis (21) and her fiancAC. Tanner Wade, Jaden (19), Hanna (17), Jordan (16), and her "adopted" daughter Bunnylyn (Anthony) Baugh and their two children. Her mother Myrna Wilcox, sisters Carin (Steve) Drysdale, Shareen (Bob) Saunders, Anita (Kelly) Robins, Natalie (Ryan) Harris and brothers Michael (Stephanie) Wilcox, Steven (Aleya) Wilcox and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father F. Blair Wilcox and her sister Darice Meredith Richards.
