Diane May Christensen passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, due to Lewy Body Dementia with her loved ones surrounding her. Her memories may have faded, but they live on in all of us whom loved and adored her.
Diane was the third child born to Leland Leolan and Anna May Snook Valentine on September 6, 1944 at the old Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Mom and her siblings Jane, Roger, Danny, and Susan grew up in Pleasant View, Utah in a home their father built on Elberta Drive. Diane loved her childhood adventures, especially riding horses. She graduated from the old Weber High School in 1963.
Diane married Robert Wayne Winfield on January 12, 1965. They lived in Utah, California, and New Jersey. They had three children whom she adored, Aleena Ann, Robert Fielding and Victoria Christine. They later divorced.
Diane married the love of her life Keith Darwin Christensen on June 25, 1994 and they were sealed together in the Ogden Temple. They lived in Marysville, Washington, Ephraim, Utah, and Ogden, Utah. They loved to travel together, especially to Yellowstone, and all other places with natural beauty for Keith to take his pictures. Mom was able to take her dream vacation to Hawaii with Keith as well, where they went horseback riding on the beautiful island of Oahu. Keith passed away from cancer December 22, 2015, and it devastated mom. However, she took comfort knowing they would be together again someday for eternity.
Diane lived faithfully as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints her whole life. She held many callings throughout the years, and enjoyed each one. She especially loved being a temple ordinance worker with her husband Keith in the Seattle Temple. Temple work was important to mom, and before this dreaded disease overtook her, she enjoyed going to the temple with her sisters and friends.
Diane worked many jobs over the years, from a waitress at Maddox, to being an amazing secretary to different companies. Her shorthand was the envy of many, and she took pride in her work. Mom overcame a lot in her life, from struggling in school, to stuttering and more. Yet everything she endured, she did with strength to keep going and fighting for a better life. Her dealing with dementia, Parkinson’s and more was no different. She fought hard and kept her sweet personality and smile through it all. Mom taught us to care, love, and show kindness to everyone, and to also love our father in Heaven and stay close to him. Mom was special to us and so loved.
Diane May Valentine Winfield Christensen leaves behind her three beloved children, Aleena (Molly) Robson in Cortez, Colorado, Robert F. Winfield in Logan, Utah, and Victoria (K. Scott) Witt in Plain City, Utah. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and siblings Jane Bauman Newbold, Daniel (Janet) Valentine, and Susan Gonzalez, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom was preceded in death by her eternal companion Keith D. Christensen, her parents, her brother Roger and sister in law Joanne Valentine, brother in laws Richard Gonzalez, Chuck Bauman, & Dale Newbold, her in laws Darwin and Doris Christensen, and many more whom we know she greeted with loving open arms, and a clear mind of them all.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who cared for and served Diane over the years, especially her sisters, and IH Hospice notably her nurse Maggie, and CNA Ashley.
