Betty Jane Jenkins Obituary (1926 - 2004)

BETTY JANE JENKINS LAYTON - Betty Jane Jenkins returned to her dear husband and Heavenly home on November 26, 2004. She was born on April 21, 1926 in Ashley, PA. Betty married Sheldon G. Jenkins on April 27, 1946. They moved to Utah in June of 1974. She enjoyed her life with Shell and kept him in her heart after he passed on. Betty lived a full life in which she influenced many. She went out of her way to help others and make new friends. She enjoyed going to Wendover and participating in slot tournaments. More than anything, she loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughters. Betty was a member of the Clearfield Community Church, Roy Elks Club, and the Eagles Ladies Auxillary. She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Sheldon G. Jenkins; father, William Henry Rhines; mother, Margaret May Searfoss; brothers, Raymond Rhines, Eugene Rhines, William Henry Rhines, Millard Rhines, Kenneth Rhines, Billy Rhines, and Bobby Rhines, sisters, Margaret Smith and Catherine Eckenrod. She is survived by daughter, Michele J. (Robert) Barnard of Scottsdale, AZ; granddaughters, Rochele J. Barker of Syracuse; Stacey (Brock) Westlund of South Jordan; and Ashley Barker of Kaysville; brother Gene (Elsie) Rhines of South Plainfielde, NJ.
