Elliott J Morris Obituary (1926 - 2015)

BRIGHAM CITY - Elliott J Morris, returned to his Heavenly Father January 25, 2015. He was born January 10, 1926 to Alvin and Secilia Bott Morris in Brigham City, Utah. He graduated from Box Elder High and went straightway into the Merchant Marines and the Army where he served during World War II. He married Shirley Joyce Ward in 1948 in the Logan Temple. He then served in the Western States Mission while Shirley and his two young boys stayed behind. Elliott worked for Everton Mattress in Logan, Utah and then moved to Soda Springs, Idaho with their six children and started his own Upholstery business with his wife Shirley. They worked side by side for 37 years and were well known for their Master Craftsmanship. Elliott loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, camping and watching all sports on TV. Elliott was preceded in death by sisters; Marjorie, Yvonne, Claudia; his brother, Vay Morris and son, Steve Morris. Survived by his wife Shirley, sister Joann Foley and brother, J Dell Morris (Britta); sons: Ron Morris, Chris Morris (Michelle), daughters: Kathy (Dave) Gibbs, Vicki (Koji) Sato, Lynda (David) Stoor, and daughter-in-law Beverly Morris, 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. We'll hold your memory within our hearts, 'til we are all together again. Services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Forest Hills Ward Chapel, 25 S. 300 E., Brigham City. A viewing will be held January 29, 2015 at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Church. Interment will in the Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded.
