Fances Juanita Roberts Orton Obituary (1941 - 2009)

Frances Juanita Roberts Orton "Pee -Wee" "Nana" WEST HAVEN - Juanita Orton passed away on December 12, 2009 from pneumonia. She was born August 4, 1941 in Bradfordsville, Kentucky, a daughter of Charles and Ailene Bright Roberts. She married Dale Gould. They later divorced. She married Allan Orton, they also later divorced. She had worked for Kremco Corp, Pacific Chromalox and Big J Motel, and she previously owned and operated a balloon gallery. She served various positions in the church such as librarian, primary teacher, and visiting teacher. She had done volunteer work at Mt. Ogden Convalescent Center. She also had rendered many hours of service to various organizations. Mom was a social butterfly until her health declined. She had many, many friends. To know her was to love her. Some of her hobbies she enjoyed when she was healthy were bowling, going to Wendover and socializing at the Eagles-Ogden Canyon with her best friend Nadine Hamblin. She was the best Gramma and Nana ever and devoted most of her life to her grandkids. They were her world. She was caring and selfless when it came to her family. She was one of a kind. God broke the mold when he made her. There was nothing in life mom wouldn't or didn't try at least once. She was a tough little lady on the outside, but inside her heart was golden. She gave it her all until the very end and her family is so proud of her. She will be sorely missed and no one can ever take her place in our hearts. She joined her daughter Nancy Orton and her mother. She is where she wanted to be. "Your Free Mom". She leaves behind her daughter, Carrie (Mike) Taylor, her sons, Jeff Gould, Curtis (Cindy) Orton. She was preceded in death 11 months ago by her daughter Nancy, whom she longed to be with again. Also preceding her were her parents, niece, Debbie and nephew little Ron. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, and one on the way. She leaves behind nine brothers and sisters, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many relatives in Kentucky. Special thanks to the nurses at McKay Dee Hospital IC Unit, especially Sherry who showed great compassion to her children. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Breast Cancer Awareness or the American Lung Foundation. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
