Golda Mae White Van Sickle Mangum Obituary (1928 - 2012)

Golda Mae White Van Sickle Mangum 9/20/1928 ~ 11/6/2012 Ogden - Golda Mangum passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Wasatch Care Center; mother was 84 years young. She was born Sept. 20, 1928, the youngest and last living child of 5 children born to Lester F. and Suzanna Kilbourn White. She was born and raised in Porterville, Utah and was a graduate of Morgan High School. She married Herman Don Van Sickle (deceased) on June 21, 1947. They were gifted with seven children. They later divorced but remained good friends. She spent the last 30 years with her companion, Adrian Steik (Spider) and their baby (dog Alex). They were there for each other to the very end. She loved her family and friends and found great harmony in her music. She had an undying zest for life. All who knew her loved her. Surviving are four daughters, Susan K. Orr, Ohio, Donna M. Adams (Ray) Ogden, UT, R. Nannette Hover, Ogden, UT, Janice L. Schlueter (Carl), Grand Junction, CO; one son, Scott L. Van Sickle (Cindy), Lehi, UT; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great- grandchildren and many other family members, loved ones and friends, Spider and Alex She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Don Van Sickle, Michael Lester Van Sickle and grandson, Wayne L. Child. The family thanks and appreciates all who made Moms life happier and cared for her; the Wasatch Care Center and staff, So. Davis Hospice, Spider, Nan for always being there when we could not, grandson Don Roose, friends, Roxanne, Todd and Doug for helping with Mom. We love you our dear Mother, you will be greatly missed, Your Children and Families. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Friday, Nov. 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
