H. Idonna Pickett Brunetti Obituary (1916 - 2012)

Helen Idonna Pickett Brunetti click here to listen to Funeral REcording On Christmas Day in 1916, the world was enjoying Santa Claus delivering presents, however, in Ogden, Utah, William Thomas and Margaret Robinson Pickett were delivering their ninth child, Helen Idonna Pickett, into this world. Now 95 years later, on Saturday, October 13, 2012, after a loving, and productive life, Idonna has passed away peacefully in her sleep. Idonna grew up in Ogden with her eight siblings. She attended Ogden High School and Weber College. She enjoyed music all throughout her life and performed vocally in many groups including a traveling trio and the Celeste Singers. Idonna was active in her LDS faith holding many positions. She was a member of the Aglaia and the Chareya Clubs. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the hospital as a Pink Lady for over 30 years, playing golf, doing ceramics, and shopping, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was the best mother and grandmother a person could have and her family truly appreciates the time and love she gave them. On November 24, 1937, Idonna married her sweetheart, Andrew Brunetti in Ogden. Idonna and Andy are the parents of two children, Peggy (Richard) Diamond of Pleasant View and Ann (Mac) Stevenson of North Ogden. They also have 11 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren. Andy passed away April 15, 2005 and she has missed him every day since then. Idonna is preceded in death by her parents; husband; her siblings and one grandson, Matthew Thomas Diamond. Idonna is survived by her two children and her grand and great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to those who cared for her at Emeritus Estates and Pamela Hawkes and her staff at Memory Lane Care Home. Services celebrating her life are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, October 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to the service on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
