Ivaloo Lund Obituary (1935 - 2025)

Ivaloo Lund was born on the 2nd of June, 1935, at her mother’s home in Ogden, UT; where she lived most of her 89 remarkable years. She was raised on a farm, loved riding horses, and started driving a farm truck when she was eight years old. Often, she expressed her love of farm life, even during the years she and her sisters had to do most of the work when her brothers were in Europe during World War II. She also competed on horseback in rodeos. Music was a large part of her life. She was known for singing all the time when she was a young girl and continued using her beautiful voice her entire life. Her love of music also led to her becoming a fine piano player and flautist. She taught hundreds of children how to play flute including one student who eventually played with the Utah Symphony. Being the last of her mom’s eight children, she was blessed with becoming an aunt the moment she was born. And, on the 4th of June, 1953, she married her nephew’s best friend, Darrell Lund, Always a fun anecdote she shared throughout her life. Darrell was also a musician and eventually, a music teacher. Their shared joy of music further enriched Ivaloo’s life journey. They shared many years integrated in the local music community. Their love of music also carried over to their children. Ivaloo was also an avid golfer. Golf became the driver for many family excursions, with the golf addiction permeating through the whole family. Ivaloo even made a hole-in-one, making Darrell quite envious. A devoted mother, Ivaloo focused on raising and supporting her four handsome sons, Steve, Alan, Byron, and Roger. Her comforting presence in their lives, helped them all become successful in their careers and life. Ivaloo also contributed to help raise five beautiful, grandchildren. Ivaloo has now reunited with her husband Darrell, who passed away 15 years ago. She often expressed her anticipation of that moment and also reuniting with her father, James Henry Toomer, and mother, Lucy May Irwin. Today, while Ivaloo is no longer with us, her spirit lives on, providing wonderful memories that continue to be woven into the fabric of our lives, embedded in our hearts, and continue to enhance our lives. A Celebration of Life open house is being held on Saturday, May 31, at her home, 5523 South 700 East, South Ogden, UT., from 11:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m..
