James "Bill" William Hunt Obituary (1927 - 2014)

James "Bill" William Hunt James "Bill" William Hunt of Riverdale, Utah passed away Sunday morning, September 14, 2014. Bill was born on March 25, 1927, to William R. and Lizzie Lehman Hunt in Ogden, Utah. He served in the United States Navy in WW II in the South Pacific. He worked for the Denver Rio Grande railroad from March 1947 to March 1950. Bill enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1953 from Ft. Lewis Washington. Bill returned to work for the Denver Rio Grande railroad, retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed duck, pheasant hunting and shooting traps. Bill also enjoyed spending time training his hunting dogs. Bill made many good friends during these times and enjoyed spending time with Scott VanLeeuwen and his friends at the Gift House in Ogden. He has lived with his niece Karen Jenkins and her husband Ken for the past couple of years in Manila, Utah. Bill considered this home and enjoyed watching the wildlife and beauty of the area. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Howard Hunt, Wayne Hunt, Kenneth (Ole) Hunt, Bob Hunt and sister Janet Pearson. Surviving is his sister Sharon Hendry (Bob) of Roy, Utah and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. A viewing for friends and family will be held Saturday at the mortuary from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Veterans Honor Guard.
