Janice Brown Day Welling Obituary (1922 - 2017)

Janice Brown Day Welling, age 95 passed away December 13, 2017 in Brigham City, Utah. Janice was born January 27, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sarah Brown Day and Golden Day. She married Jack Alma Welling on September 21, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 2, 1951, they spent 58 wonderful years together. Janice's early years were spent in Garfield, Utah until the family moved to Hunter, Utah where she spent most of her childhood. As a young girl she loved ice skating and tap danced in many programs. During WWII she worked for the Arms Plant and proudly made bullets for the Armed Forces. Janice and Jack made their home in Magna, Utah in 1957, where they lived, raised two daughters and made many wonderful friends. She served faithfully in many church callings and especially loved teaching primary and doing sealing work in the temple. She loved flowers and loved to play the organ. She is survived by daughters: Patricia Thomas (Dan) and Joan Nielsen (Kieth), brother, Ralph Day (Bev), grandchildren: Tyler Kieth Nielsen (Heather), Jan Marie Holding (David) and Scott Andrew Nielsen (Andrea) and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack, her brother Druel Day and grandson Bryan Jack Nielsen. The family would like to thank the Gables Assisted Living Center and Access Home Hospice for their excellent care and concern. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Riverton, Utah Cemetery.
