Jory Dion Martinez Obituary (1991 - 2014)

February 2, 1991 - December 28, 2014. The world is a little darker today. Many hearts are broken. We lost our son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and best friend. Our Jory has left us and we will never be the same. Jory was the oldest son of Mari Lopez (Antonio); brother of Tristan (Mando), Chazz (Kassandra) and Maria. Cousins by blood but brothers and sister thru the heart with Trevor, Trent, Antonio (Natasha), Joel (Sadie) and Marysa (Blake); uncle to Julius Rue. He was looking forward to being an uncle again in June (C/K) Godfather to Erikah. His grandma Madi loved him (he was "her Jory"). His huge dimples and smile never stopped bringing a smile to all who knew him. He leaves behind special aunts, Angie & Michelle; special uncles, Vincent and Sam; they love him as their own. His uncle Leo (Jovana) called him "monkey boy" and it stuck. He also leaves behind his uncle, Dean (Patricia) and aunt, Melissa (Herman) and grandpa, Leo (Alice); special cousins, Estevan & Leo III; and many cousins, friends, great aunts, great uncles and many friends near and far. He will also be greatly missed by his best friend, Kyle Fairchild. Jory was always happy and always willing to help no questions asked. Jory loved to travel with family, they had many adventures together. Family is what Jory loved most and spending time together even if it was just simple like watching the game with Uncle Sam. Jory was a big sports fan. He loved the Utah Jazz. Even when he moved to Oklahoma he was still a Jazz fan. Our lives will go on but it will never be complete without Jory in it. We know one day we will be together again thru our Lord in heaven. This is what will keep us going on thru this difficult journey. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden, Utah. Family and Friends may gather prior to mass at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
