Joseph Wendell Balls Obituary (1956 - 2012)

Joseph Wendell Balls BRIGHAM CITY - Joseph Wendell Balls, 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at McKay Dee Hospital of a sudden heart attack. Wendell was born in Logan, Utah on January 27, 1956 a son of Mack Seamons and Elease Bailey Balls. He married Sharon Hall on July 5, 1974 in Wellsville, UT; their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on July 5, 1979. Wendell was employed at ATK for 32 years and at the time of his passing he was employed at Box Elder School District. He is a member of the LDS Church and he loved his calling as a basketball referee in the church as well as in the community. He had lived in Thatcher for 14 years before moving to Brigham City. Wendell loved elk hunting with his sons and brothers, riding his four-wheeler, rocketry, cooking and watching his children and grandchildren play ball. His first priority was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Sharon, his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Sharon, Brigham City; children: Dana Marie (Jason) Walker, Brigham City; Gregery Wendell (Amuri) Balls, Brigham City; Teri Linsi (Kyle) Powers, Brigham City; Timothy Joseph (Keara) Balls, Perry; McKenzi Kris (Zack) Denson, Kaysville; eight grandchildren: Bailey, Jaecee, Brinley, Jayden, Daxton, Kaleb, Evan, Wyatt, and another grandson on the way. Three siblings: Janet (Steve) Broadbent, Sidney (Patricia) Balls and Douglas (Betty) Balls. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Brigham City 11th Ward Chapel, 506 S. 200 E., Brigham City. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, and on Saturday from 11:00 to 11:40 a.m. at the Church.
